The choice of lighting equipment is one of the important factors in the performance of lighting design. With the development of lighting technology, LED lighting is developing rapidly. Some laboratories can produce a new generation of products in a month. The main performance of LED in lighting: long life and small size, radiation less, energy saving and environmental protection and so on.

However, since LED is a new type of light source, the time spent in the field of lighting is not long, and the production and research and development technology needs to be continuously improved and improved. Moreover, Currently on the market does not have a complete industry standard, which brings troubles to the use and promotion of LED lamps. The uneven quality and price of the products also increase the workload of lighting designers. How to choose the right LED lighting product:

1. Judge from the outside appearance

A qualified product must be of reasonable structure, delicate surface treatment, structural and functional matching of various components, complete and clear product label, visual dimensions of the size of the lamp in accordance with the space used, including packaging and product instruction manual.

2. Light source

Due to technical constraints, most of the high-quality light sources are now better feedback from the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. The key to different quality LED chips is the difference between life, color temperature, and light efficiency, and of course the control of the illumination angle. The visual inspection of higher quality light sources is more difficult to distinguish when the lamp is off, and the technical parameters provided by the manufacturer are usually required.

3. LED driver

Many people think the drive is very important. The parameters indicated by the manufacturer are first reviewed. Because the volt-ampere characteristics of the LED have a negative temperature coefficient, they are not fixed and will vary with temperature. Analysis of main parameters: input voltage, output voltage, output current, output power, power factor, wiring indication, temperature rise, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, etc.

4. Heat dissipation treatment

LED is sensitive to temperature, and the negative temperature coefficient is also mentioned in the front. Therefore, it is necessary to review the heat sink treatment. In theory, the heat sink material is more suitable for aluminum, but it also distinguishes between insert aluminum, aluminum and cast aluminum. In addition, the contact mode and area of the heat sink and the light source and the aluminum substrate and the aluminum casing directly affect the conduction and heat dissipation effects of the core temperature of the LED chip.

5. Lighting test

Usually, lighting designers reviewing samples require a lighting test. The color temperature, brightness, spot shape, beam angle, and lamp body temperature are all audit details of the lighting designer. The first few steps are theoretically and superficially judged, and the final result comes down to the lighting test. Here you can very intuitively determine whether the luminaire matches the design effect.
